Required Bankruptcy Counseling
Everyone filing for bankruptcy must complete a pre-filing debtor counseling course and a second course of debtor education to receive a discharge. You may do this online at one of these sites. You will be charged $50 for each course. The certificate issued to you by the debtor counseling agency must be filed with your other documents at the clerk's office.
Credit Reports
Your credit report will assist you in listing all your creditors on your petition. Complete addresses and account numbers must be listed for all creditors. If the complete account number is not available, just list what is available. When your petition is filed with the court, the account number will only show the last 4 digits, for security reasons.
